After many years of refusing to admit their fault, the police officials have finally relented. The Stonewall riots took place on Christopher Street, Greenwich Village, New York City on June 28, 1969. Celebrating the Stonewall Riots

New York celebrates the golden anniversary of the Stonewall Riots with NYC Pride. They will host World Pride 2019 together with Stonewall50 for this event. The pride organization won the bid to host Word Pride 2019 in October 2016. Working closely with New York state and city officials, this community wants to exceed visitor’s expectation in this glorious event.

World Pride is a licensed event granted by InterPride. It is an international membership organization of Pride organizer. NYC Pride representatives are part of this organization. They have provided over $150,000 to local organizations in 2018. The look forward to increasing this amount in 2019. World Pride exists to promote equal rights for the LGBTQ community worldwide.

Keeping the Stonewall Spirit Alive

Heritage of Pride is a nonprofit organization that aims to produce annual pride events like World Pride to memorialize the Stonewall riots of 1969. This Pride organizer hopes for a future without discrimination. It longs to see people getting equal rights under the law. The wish to do this in the annual pride events that they organize.

The Stonewall riots of 1969 inspired the first Pride. It moved the LGBTQ community to come together and fight for their rights. World Pride Opening Ceremony

In the United States, World Pride opens on June 26 at the Barclays Center. Whoopi Goldberg will host this event. The proceeds of this benefit concert will go to the three leading LGBTQ organizations in New York City. Artists like Cyndi Lauper and Chaka Khan will be performing in this World Pride event.

World Pride is an expression of a people’s quest for gender equality and human rights. The LGBTQ community leads this movement.
